Great Lakes Begins MSP Service

Beginning as soon as December 17, 2011 Great Lakes Airlines will operate two non-stop roundtrip flights between Minneapolis/St. Paul and Devils Lake, ND. This service is expedited to replace previous service offered by Delta and Delta Connection. DOT says Delta can end MSP to Pierre route

dlimageOn Tuesday, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) told Delta Air Lines it can end its Minneapolis/St. Paul to Pierre, SD (PIR) route. Delta will not be required to serve Pierre past October 13, however, the airline currently appears to be discontinuing service on November 20.

Frontier canceling service to Kansas City and Milwaukee

frontierFrontier Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary of Republic Airways Holdings, will be ending its service between Minneapolis/St. Paul to Kansas City, MO (MCI) and Milwaukee, WI (MKE) this fall. The airline has canceled flights between MSP both of these cities effective November 1, 2011.

Delta announces order for 100 Boeing 737-900ERs

Delta Air Lines and the Boeing Company confirmed rumors from earlier in the week that Delta was looking to purchase Boeing 737-900ER aircraft. The two companies announced today that Delta will purchase 100 737-900ERs for delivery between 2013 and 2018 to replace older mainline jets.
