Terminal 1 gates to get paint

I was out at the airport yesterday taking a few photos and to my surprise noticed they started painting the gates white. I was not aware that they were going to be painting them, however, have always wondered when it was going to happen. The gray paint on all the gates has aged, rusted, and just overall looks terrible. I am glad to see they have started painting them.

Anybody have any news on when this started and/or when they plan to have all of them completed?

I noticed they are also starting to repaint the Terminal 1 parking garage railings from the deep blue to a lighter gray.

Check out the photos:

It started maybe a month and is going to run as long as weather permits. They are also redoing the interiors as well.

Not to rain on anyone’s parade, but I wish they’d spend more time and money updating their Web site and the interiors of their aircraft…

The Metropolitan airports commission (MAC) are the ones repainting the gates, not Delta! Though I do think Delta really needs to work on their website. Seems like every time I try to book a flight on Delta, I usually get some sort of error code or something! Anyway..back on subject!

Thanks for clarifying airborn_747. I guess I figured since none of the other terminals are being repainted it was a DL decision. My bad.
