MAC Unveils Updated 2020 Vision
The Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) says now that by 2020 MSP could see 28 new gates, a world class hotel, expanded parking and crossover taxiways. The plan was unveiled including a 7-year plan to move all non-Delta operators to the Humphrey Terminal.

Southwest Cuts Overall Service For Fall, But Adds To MSP
Southwest Airlines announced their fall 2010 schedule with a cut of 116 flights per week compared to their summer schedule. However, with the company’s overall cuts that includes 83 round-trips, the low-cost carrier has added a 4th daily flight from MSP to Denver.

MSP Lands A Cool $5 Million For Runway Projects
Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar announced today that MSP will receive 5-million dollars from the U.S. Department of Transportation. The money will be used to make necessary runway repairs and safety upgrades as required by new FAA Reauthorization bill that passed earlier this week.

Icelandair To Resume MSP Service on May 11th
Icelandair has announced that it will return to the Twin Cities for the summer season with one daily flight. Service to MSP’s Humphrey Terminal (Terminal 2) is slated to begin May 11th and run through October 9th.
Official: Sun Country To Serve London-Stansted For Summer 2010
Sun Country will begin new service to Stansted, England during the summer months. Sun Country will operate the the route departing MSP on Friday afternoons and returning on Sunday. Ground time in Stansted is expected to be roughly 30 hours.

Sun Country Achieves ETOPS 120 Rating
Sun Country has been granted an ETOPS 120 rating by successfully completing six Atlantic crossings between Portsmouth, NH and Shannon, Ireland. N809SY and N811SY are already sporting the ETOPS markings on their gear doors.
